Back home.

If you have been following my posts on Facebook, I've been out of town since Friday, in a quaint little town called Naturita.  SMALL town.  Very nice people, and I enjoyed our stay.  Brian had work near there, and I decided to tag along so he wouldn't be lonely. ;) I have a few pictures over on Facebook that I took with my Blackberry, let me see if I can grab a few...

Cute little town, eh?  Yeah, that's it.  The whole town.  I was a bit bored, but I got caught up on some of my reading.  The doggers and I spent quite a bit of time hanging out, too.  Lots of places to take them to go running. Oh... if you're wanting an updated on the medical condition... there isn't one.  Every test comes back normal.  Hopefully the doc will call me this week and we can figure out where to go from there.

Quick update ... and a cute picture!

We drove up Land's End Road to get to the top of Grand Mesa yesterday... have I ever mentioned I'm afraid of heights? Well, we won't be doing that again. I love the view from the top, but OMG that road was scary. At the top of the Mesa, at Land's End, there are bunch of chipmunks that will eat right out of your hand. Here is me feeding one of them a peanut.

Isn't he cute? Anyway... more pictures tomorrow. None from the way up (I was too busy hanging on with my eyes closed), but I got a few good ones from the top. Good thing there's another way down, or I'd probably still be up there.

Weekend.

We're at Brian's parents' house borrowing their wifi for a few minutes, and I figured I'd drop in for a quick update. Kitties are all good, and so are the dogs. The temperatures here have dropped a few degrees and we had a lovely thunderstorm last night. Ares woke me up when it started... poking me with his paw to tell me, "MOM! The thunder is scary!" Poor guy. I made him lay down next to the bed and he calmed down. We're off taking a drive this afternoon. Brian is taking me up to the top of Grand Mesa, and I'll be taking pictures. I'll post the good ones here. I just hope it's not too scary driving up there. Ok, time to head out, I'll update sometime in the next few days with pictures!

Pagosa Springs Fiber Festival.

So... Saturday I went to Pagosa Springs for the Fiber Festival, and managed not to spend too much money. Of course, hubby was with me, so I showed a bit of restraint. You would be proud of me. First purchase of the day was a lovely drop spindle from Crazy Monkey Creations. Beautiful and handmade, the colors are gorgeous and it spins perfectly. Now I just need to learn how to use it.

The roving that it's sitting on is Navajo Churro, from Pam Dyer at Dyers Wool. She helped me pick out the best roving for a total novice. Apparently, the staple length of churro is quite long and easier to spin. I have no idea, but I'll trust her. The owner of my LYS is going to show me how to use the spindle, so we'll find out! I also picked up two skeins of handspun merino from Cat Mountain Fiber Arts. Soft and silky and oh so pretty. No idea what I'm going to make with it yet, but I'm sure something will come up.

I wish we would have stayed longer, there was so much yarn!  It tested my resolve, but I managed to leave without spending too much.  I so wanted one of the cute little alpacas... so soft and cuddly.  One of these days I'll have a couple of them, but there's nowhere to put them here.
