Ok, I think I'm finished

At least with the visible stuff... I had a buggy, messed up installation of WordPress, and I figured it would be best if I just uninstalled it and started fresh. I guess that's what happens when you upgrade and upgrade and upgrade. After a while things just get left behind and messy. I'm going to be a bit more careful with plugin installation this time, too. Anyway.. for putting up with that, I shall reward you with a picture of Alley Cat "supervising" my work.

Drooling Kitty

This is my Ozzy cat. He is MY baby, just like Shiva is Brian's. He adores me, even when he bites my nose harder than he should. One of the amusing things about our Ozzy is that when he's happy, he drools. If he's happy enough to be kneading his paws, his mouth leaks like a faucet. I don't get it, but it's pretty funny. This is Ozzy on my lap a few minutes ago:

As you can see, he's drooling out of both sides of his mouth. This is one happy cat. Oh.. excuse the mess on my desk, I've been re-arranging, and everything seems to wind up there. I suppose I should clean it tomorrow. This is my favorite pet snapshot of the week:

I walked into the bedroom and he was sound asleep with his face planted into the bed. I just had to get a picture. I only go this one, because my flash didn't go off and then Ares decided he wanted to find out what the cat was doing. With his cold wet nose stuck into Ozzy's ear. Yeah, that went over well. Poor Ozzy. What a way to wake up. He was so confused. It's never ending entertainment around here.

Soggy Doggies

The dogs have been getting restless since I haven't felt up to being out lately, so I made myself load them up in the truck and take them to the park. I'm really glad I did, they had a blast.

Here they are in the truck, ready to go. Ares is in a hurry.

This is the "open space" park on the other side of the river from us. They love it here. Usually we throw the ball, but they lost the last one and I haven't bought new ones yet. They had a great time just wandering around smelling everything today. Oh, and the water. More pictures below the fold, click "More" to see them... enjoy!

Water bowl

A few months ago, I found an Instructables post about a self-filtering water dish for pets. This intrigued me, and I decided to try it for myself. I found the filter at our local pet store, but the bowl was a bit harder to find. I finally located the bowl I was looking for on Amazon, and it arrived today. It was much bigger than I expected.

The only problem with this bowl was the lip... we couldn't get the filter to attach properly, or stay up straight. Brian solved this by bending the lip down in one spot, and the filter attached pretty well.

I didn't have any shims, so I just stuck the whole thing in the corner so it would prop up the filter. This worked pretty well.  The filter is practically silent, and it's moving a lot of water. Everyone investigated, but seemed afraid of the setup... until Alley decided she liked it. Now that she's tried it, everyone else seems to think it's ok. All in all, I recommend this setup. Karma actually drank out of the dish after the dogs, which she's never done before. I approve.
