Monday Happy List

I haven’t done this in a while!  Time to re-start.  So… in no particular order, here are five things that make me happy:

  • A good night’s sleep
  • A purring cat on my lap
  • Knitting
  • Someone else cleaning the kitchen for me
  • My electric blanket

I could put the electric blanket twice or three times, I think.  This time of year it gets sooo cold, and when I go to bed my feet are always frozen.  It’s nice to have an outside heat source to warm them up, instead of relying on my own poorly functioning circulatory system.  Go electric blankets!

Monday Happy List

It’s a holiday today, so I almost forgot it’s Monday!

Here, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy:

  • My Dyson vacuum.  Even when it stops working, their website shows me in simple steps how to make it start working again.  Hint: If the hose is clogged, don’t keep trying to use it or the vacuum will overheat and turn off.
  • Mike Rowe.
  • Cooler weather.  Summer has been rough.  Not sure if I’m looking forward to snow, though.
  • Coffee. I need to obtain that perfect balance between too much caffeine and not enough… I think I almost have it down.
  • Lazy fall afternoons.  I wish they could last forever.

Yay!

Migraine averted. :D

Spent most of the day in bed, but the actual migraine never showed up.  That makes me very happy.  Which reminds me… the Monday happy list is late, so here, without further delay, is the Monday Happy List (on Tuesday).

Here, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy:

  1. Migraines going away!
  2. Possibly getting a job?  Here’s hoping.
  3. Nice cool mornings with a lovely breeze.
  4. A good night’s sleep
  5. Caramel Lattes.  Yum.

Anyway… that’s my post for the day, I’ll be back tomorrow with more to say.  Hopefully next time it will be more interesting. ;)

Update!

Yes, I’m still alive.  Currently, sitting at the local coffee shop borrowing their wifi and having a latte.  We have successfully made the transition to Grand Junction, and are staying with Brian’s grandparents.  We’ve had a couple more snafus with the house, but things are still on track to close on the 12th.  Here’s hoping!

Well, it’s hot here.  HOT.  It’s been over 100 nearly ever day that I’ve been here this week, and I am NOT used to those temperatures anymore.  Bayfield is nice and cool by comparison.  I am liking the access to shops and stuff, but the temperatures will definitely take some getting used to.

The cats are doing ok, except for Ozzy… poor guy is just freaked out by the whole thing.  Karma and Shiva are staying at Brian’s parents’ house, and they’ve settled in quite nicely.  Alley and Ozzy are at the kennel, and of course Alley Cat is a regular trooper.  She doesn’t seem to mind at all.  Poor Ozzy, on the other hand, was traumatized by the drive, and is just not happy about anything.  I’ve been visiting them both every day, and we got him to come out of his box for a bit on Saturday morning, but he pretty much hides the whole time.  I’ll be so glad to get them all back into our house.

The dogs are fine… they’re getting along with Buck (grandparents’ dog) and really enjoying the opportunity to run full speed across 10 acres of hayfield.  We go out for a walk every morning, and they’re loving it.  I’ll be glad to get them back into a fenced yard, though. No fence and a rural highway make for flat dogs, so I keep them inside unless we’re walking.  I don’t want flat dogs.

Currently on the agenda for me is finding a part-time job and getting my business set up.  Logo design is in process, and as soon as that is done I can order business cards and make flyers.  I’m thinking I’m going to target small business IT services… driving to businesses is a lot cheaper than setting up a shop, and I’m all for lower overhead.  I’m really not going to make a push for anything until we get into the house, though… mostly because I don’t want to have to leave the dogs at the grandparents’ house.  They’re good boys, but it’s not fair to ask them to watch them all the time.

So… that’s what I’ve been up to.  I’ll post on here as often as I can, but we have no internet where we’re staying.  That means whenever I can get out and get wifi for my laptop, AND remember to post, I’ll keep everyone updated.

Finally, because I’ve been horribly lax, here is the Monday Happy List!

  1. A coffee shop with free wifi!
  2. Watching the dogs bound through the hayfield with big smiles.
  3. Seeing the preliminary sketches for my logo and LOVING them.
  4. New sunglasses
  5. New clothes that are affordable, cute, and DON’T make me look fat!

See you all later, I’ll try to update soon!

Monday Happy List

Yay! It’s Monday!  That means it’s time for another Happy List. :)

Here, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy.

  1. We close on our house on the 29th.  Yay!
  2. Packing nearing completion.
  3. A clean kitchen
  4. Doggies who are good boys and listen to me when I tell them to stop barking at every damn thing that walks past. ;)
  5. Fajitas for dinner.  Yum.

There you have it… five things that are currently making me quite happy.  More updates to come, and possibly… knitting!  We shall see.   I have buried myself in housework and reading and have been ignoring my computer AND my knitting for the past few weeks.  Maybe I’ll get a chance to get some knitting done this week, since I’ll be spending some time at my LYS.

I’ll try to update tomorrow afternoon.  Really. :)

Monday Happy List!

Yes, I’m still here!  Chaos and insanity abound, but things are going well.  Except we don’t have a place to live yet.  Hard to move if you have nowhere to move into! If you live in the Grand Junction area and are willing to rent to nice people with a lot of pets, let me know!

Off to continue my search for a nice place to live… but I’ll leave you with my happy list for the day.

Here, in random order, are five things that make me happy.

  1. A Chinese restaurant opening up within walking distance of my house (mmmm sweet and sour chicken)!
  2. The vet filling my prescription for kitty cat sedatives.  That will make the drive much easier on everyone.
  3. Ice cream.  Yum!
  4. The weather finally warming up enough to sleep with the windows open.
  5. Taking walks with my dogs.

I’ll be back posting as soon as I can, and I’ll try to keep everyone updated!

Monday Happy List!

Here, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy.

  1. Spore Creature Creator releases tomorrow!
  2. Getting an early copy of said program.
  3. Finding out Brian only has 3 more days of overtime, then back to normal schedule.
  4. Crossing things off of my “To Do before we move” list.
  5. New sunglasses today!

Here is a fun movie for anyone interested in Spore… I’ve been waiting for this game for over three years now. This is only a taste, but I’m loving it so far!

This is “Frogspot”, one of my first attempts at creating a new creature. Enjoy!

Monday, Monday…

So good to me…

Ah, what a great day for a Monday. Except I have to pack and I can’t find boxes. Isn’t moving fun? I’m excited about moving, but not about the actual process, if you know what I mean. We moved at least once a year when I was a kid, and I just got heartily sick of packing, unpacking and re-packing all my stuff. I wish I could just snap my fingers and have it all packed, moved and unpacked in the new place.

If only.

Ok, it’s Monday, and Monday means it’s time for a new Happy List! So here, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy:

  1. LOLcats. Yes. Still.
  2. My World of Warcraft guild, “Order of the Screaming Squill” or OSS. Awesome bunch of guys.
  3. Big sales at the grocery store the day I need to shop.
  4. Amish Friendship Bread. YUM!
  5. Finding out that I can run Folding@home and SETI@home at the same time.

Speaking of Folding@home and SETI@home, if you would like to contribute to Team Ravelry’s efforts with either one, our Folding@home team number is 131486, and our SETI@home team number is 136486. It doesn’t cost anything, you just need to run a little teeny program in your system tray. If you’re a member of Ravelry, you can visit our group’s forum to find out more.

Oh, and just because I can’t get enough of these…

Monday Happy List… on Tuesday.

Due to my lack of enthusiasm for the computer for the weekend, I have been neglecting my blog. Updates tomorrow on the Pagosa Springs Fiber Festival, and pictures of what I bought. :D

Now, in no particular order, are five things that make me happy:

  1. The new Knit Picks catalog. Lace!
  2. Amish friendship bread from my LYS owner. Thanks, Linda!
  3. Getting all my bills paid on time. Early, even!
  4. New allergy medicine that works, and doesn’t make me sleep all day.
  5. Four day weekends.

Updates tomorrow, I promise!
