Are we really so afraid?

Wiley Miller‘s comic strip Non Sequitur may not show up in your newspaper today. Why? Because people are allowing fear to rule their decisions. Several news editors rejected this strip in advance:

Seriously, people, are we this afraid? What on earth is offensive to anyone about this comic? Are the newspapers afraid to print something that simply implies the existence of a picture of Muhammad? I think Miller himself said it best:
“[T]he irony of editors being afraid to run even such a tame cartoon as this that satirizes the blinding fear in media regarding anything surrounding Islam sadly speaks for itself. Indeed, the terrorists have won.”
I'm beginning to think they have.
