Once more from the top.

I am back.

Between my health utterly and completely kicking my ass for the past few months, my blog getting repeatedly hacked (DAMN YOU, WORDPRESS!), and helping Brian get his new e-commerce site up and running, my poor blog has fallen by the wayside. It is time to remedy that.

Updates:

My fibro knocked me down farther than I thought it ever could. My pain levels were constantly 6-8 (or worse), even on a steady diet of tramadol and vicodin. My skin felt like I was burned all over... Brian couldn't even touch my arm, it hurt so bad. Clothes were a nightmare. Then about 2 weeks ago, after about 2 solid weeks of this, it started to gradually get better. Right now I feel better than I have in almost a year. Here's hoping it lasts for a while. I'm not counting on it, but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. It's nice to be able to sleep for a change. :)

Will is going in for surgery on the 6th for his scoliosis. Yikes. I'm not sure what else to say about this one, except I'll keep everyone updated. Will wants me to document it, so I'll do my best. I promise no graphic pictures on the blog (at least none that aren't hidden behind links). I don't want to freak anyone out. Especially me. We'll have x-rays and maybe some animations of what's going to take place, but you won't be surprised by surgery pictures when you come to the blog. I'll do an update soon with what the procedure involves here in the next day or so.

The blog: In case you haven't noticed, the blog is .. slightly different. I've abandoned the idea of self-hosted wordpress, because I'm just not good enough to keep up with the hackers. I don't know why, but apparently my blog is a tasty target, and they've taken it out twice so far. I give up. They win. I've moved to Posterous, and will continue my blogging over here. I'm pretty sure the blog migrated in it's entirety, but if you notice anything weird or missing, let me know.

And with that, I leave you with a picture of a cat in a box.

Site Repair (pardon my dust)

I'm going to be playing around with themes a bit today, please bear with me. I'm trying to find something that works with minimal plugins. In regards to the malware warning, Google has re-scanned the site and found it malware free. Again, sorry about that. There was never any danger from this site, there was a link embedded into the code that linked to a bad site. Unless you actually clicked on that link, you were in no danger... and it wasn't a clickable link. I'm assuming they do it to get link referrals for ads or Google juice or something. BAD HACKERS. LEAVE MY BLOG ALONE. /cry

I'm sorry!

If you're getting the Google warning page... I've thoroughly checked the site, and there is no actual malware, so you're not infected. What DID happen was someone managed to hack my .htaccess file and add a link to a site known to have malware. If it makes you feel better, by all means run a virus scan! I immediately rebooted my computer into safe mode and ran a complete scan to make sure I didn't have any keyloggers or anything nasty. I'm thinking one of my plugins had a vulnerability (my backup plugin, of all things) that let them access my files. I've completely deleted the old site and rebuilt from a backup, so there is nothing remaining but the Google warning page, which hopefully will be gone soon. I've requested a review through the Webmaster Tools, and it shouldn't take long to clear now that the site is clean. *fingers crossed* What this means for the site is that I'm going to redesign and use quite a bit fewer plugins and hope that I can avoid any more vulnerabilities. If anyone has any experience with Wordpress security, feel free to toss some suggestions my way, I'd be happy to listen. tl;dr - Someone hacked me, there's no actual virus, I'm redoing the site. Warning page should be down soon. Don't kill me. >.<

Ok, I think I'm finished

At least with the visible stuff... I had a buggy, messed up installation of WordPress, and I figured it would be best if I just uninstalled it and started fresh. I guess that's what happens when you upgrade and upgrade and upgrade. After a while things just get left behind and messy. I'm going to be a bit more careful with plugin installation this time, too. Anyway.. for putting up with that, I shall reward you with a picture of Alley Cat "supervising" my work.
