100 Posts!

Didn’t realize it, but yesterday’s post was number 100!  Not bad, considering I figured I’d get bored with this blog and stop posting to it after a week (this was attempt 4 or 5 at starting a blog).  I was going to do a contest, but with the move still not completed, it probably isn’t [...]

My first handspun yarn… finished!

Done! I dyed the singles and then plied them together on Linda’s spinning wheel. Very simple dye job… black cherry and grape Kool-Aid, dumped one on each side of the pot. there is a teeny bit of difference in the two, and it showed up when I plied them together.

See? Yarn! [...]

My own handspun yarn!

I went down to my LYS today to get a spinning lesson from my friend Linda, who owns the shop. Ok, it’s a bit fiddly, and it took me a little bit to get the hang of it… but I made yarn! Lookie!

My very own first handspun yarn. I am all [...]

Pagosa Springs Fiber Festival.

So… Saturday I went to Pagosa Springs for the Fiber Festival, and managed not to spend too much money. Of course, hubby was with me, so I showed a bit of restraint. You would be proud of me.
First purchase of the day was a lovely drop spindle from Crazy Monkey Creations. Beautiful [...]

Feather and Fan Facecloth… finished!

Finally took some time to knit this week, and finished the facecloth. I love this pattern. I was giving it a “test knit” to see how much I liked it, because I’m thinking about doing a shawl or stole in this pattern. After this, it’s definitely a thumbs up. I wonder [...]

Playing with beads.

As you can tell by my last post, I was playing with my “Bucket o’ Beads” yesterday. I have an assortment of beads, most of which don’t match, so pulling out enough matching beads to make sets was a bit of a challenge. I put two more sets together (in addition to the [...]

New Yarn!

I ordered a skein of hand dyed sock yarn from Ray at Knitivity, and it arrived in the mail yesterday. Gorgeous! Soft and smooshy and huggable.  The colorway is called “Dunes”, and it is a lovely mix of browns and blues. Perfect for wearing with blue jeans!

Beautiful!  I am really looking forward [...]

What’s in my knitting bag?

I figured it would be a good time to do an update on the projects I’m doing. Currently in my knitting bag are my Feather and Fan Facecloth, the Felici Socks, and the newly started Zombie Socks.
I’m almost done with the facecloth. This pattern knits up quite quickly, and I’m loving the results. [...]

What I’ve been knitting.

Ok, let’s take a break from the food for a bit, and back to the knitting. As you can probably tell, I haven’t been knitting too much this week, but I have put in a little bit of time on my feather and fan facecloth. This is a very simple lace pattern, and [...]

On the needles…

Wow… knitting. I have been slacking this week, mostly because I have been working on my blog. Knitting has kind of been put on hold all week. I have managed to get a little bit of work done on my Felici socks, and I’m very tickled with the way they’ve been coming [...]
