I've only tried spindling to ply some really superfine coned yarn. Didn't work well, but I enjoyed the experince. There's nothing like finding a new way to enjoy fiber, right? Instead of being fiddly, I'd say your yarn has "character", and that character will lead you to the colors and pattern it wants to be. Keep strutting!
