Shiva is the big baby of the household. By big, I mean twenty pounds big. This cat is huge, and it’s not all fat. Six years old (almost seven!), and he’s the most spoiled cat I have ever met. His entire day consists of eating and/or sleeping, and begging for attention. He’s a wonderful cat. Cuddly, huggable, loves everyone (except the dogs) and loves attention. He is prone to temper tantrums when he doesn’t get his way, though. Let his food dish get empty, or open a can of tuna and don’t give him any… he’ll be complaining and lashing his tail at anyone near. He took a swipe at my ankle one day when I didn’t feed him fast enough. I don’t think he meant to hurt… he’s more like a two year old kids having a tantrum.
He is a beautiful cat, though. Always keeps himself immaculately groomed. We have been dealing with a food allergy that causes him to get a rash on his back, but it looks like it’s all cleared up now. At least we don’t have to shave him any more.
Shiva is a Himalayan mix… mixed with what, we don’t know. His mom was a purebred Himalayan. He loves Brian more than anything. Karma is a close second, and I’ve seen him curled up on occasion with Alley Cat. He tolerates Ozzy… who is terrified of him. The dogs? He hates the dogs… I think he would be quite content if they were to disappear.
Shiva’s favorite place to be (besides on our bed at bedtime) is on the couch, laying on the pillows. Or in today’s case, on Brian’s coveralls that I just pulled out of the dryer.
