Karma is our shy little “tuxedo cat”… getting a picture of her to post here was a bit of a challenge. I can’t use my big camera, the Nikon D50, because it scares her. Just point it at her from anywhere in the room and she instantly vanishes. I had to sneak up on her with my little camera to get this shot. It helped that I just put out a fresh dish of water. She always comes running for that, because she hates to drink out of it after the dogs have slobbered in it. Most of the time she just asks us to turn on the faucet for her so she can get a fresh drink.
Karma is the “First Pet” in our house. My husband found her before we met. She was a tiny little kitten meowing on his front step in the pouring rain. He took her in and fed her ham and the rest is history. Karma adores him, and I have became an “acceptable substitute” for his presence. I felt so honored the first time she jumped up and sat on my lap. She really is a shy girl. If you ever come over to visit, you probably won’t see her until you’ve been here quite a few times.
She loves Shiva, avoids Alley Cat, tolerates the dogs, and is just plain annoyed by Ozzy. He loves her, so he follows her everywhere… which drives her crazy. She likes her space, and he is in it. He’s getting better about leaving her alone after she whacked him the other day. I think. Sometimes that boy is not very bright.
