Casting on…

…Socks!

I am casting on a basic pair of socks using the techniques I have learned in Silver’s Sock Class. I’m going to do a few modifications to the pattern, including trying out a double wrap short row heel (tutorial found here at Misocrafty) instead of the single wrap that I did on the previous pair. The single wrap short row leaves holes that are way too big for my taste. I’m still debating what pattern I will use, but it will probably be a variation of a simple 2×2 rib pattern. I really like the Felici sock yarn, and I don’t want to obscure the striping with a complicated pattern.

Socks

These are going to be fun socks. I deliberately didn’t match the striping, because I want them to be funky and “mismatched”. With the way I knit, I should have these done sometime next winter. Seriously… I’d like to get them done in the next month so I can wear them this summer with my Birkenstocks. Wish me luck! :)
